How To Play Fantasy Football » Manage Your Team

"Come and see me. Bring your playbook.”

No player likes to hear those words but, inevitably, someone on your team will not perform  to your expectations. Maybe it’s time to bring in a fresh body through a cut or trade. Just remember, you’ve got to work within the allowable number of trades and your $50M salary cap!  For the Mid-Season Fantasy Football Challenge you will have a $25M salary cap.

No one said coaching is easy!

Unfortunately, someone on the team will not perform to your expectations, so there will be times that warrant the acquisition of new talent through cuts and trades.

Remember to stay with your salary cap!

Strategy

There’s no  foolproof method for ultimate Fantasy Football domination. A lot of success can be chalked up to gut intuition, hard work and experience, but there are a few guidelines that can help:
  • Know who’s playing: The probabilities of individual scoring will shift from one match up to another. Learn to take advantage of the good ones. An average running back playing against a weak defense might may yield more points than a good running back against a killer defense.
  • Know where they’re playing: Team strategy will change from one climate to another. Will Chicago’s 45 mph winds play to your advantage or not? How about a snow-covered field in Wisconsin?
  • Know who’s hurting: If one of your players is hurt and trying to play through pain, it may be time to trade. If he’s been sidelined, that’s a no-brainer.
  • Learn to recognize a good deal: You’ll raise your team’s score as well as save your budget for other areas if you can spot the player who performs better than his salary would indicate.
